In this session, Niraj and Sumit from Capital One demonstrate their work on building a real-time, streaming platform supporting a variety of decisioning applications, and talk about their journey on how the platform and tools evolved to support low latency, high throughput, scalable and fault-tolerant applications leveraging open source technologies deployed using Kubernetes container orchestration at AWS. They provide a step-by-step walkthrough of a reference solution to create, collect and process fast data streams using Apache projects NiFi, Kafka, and Flink etc. Different tools and other key components will be outlined including, automated delivery pipelines, ML model performance monitors, business dashboards and sensitive data protection. Along with the tech stack, they share tips on leveraging cloud provider resources, resulting in a more adaptable architecture and infrastructure.
